Mosque-madrasa complex in the Chalabilar village of Jabrayil

The Mosque-madrasa complex in the Chalabilar village of Jabrayil district of Azerbaijan is attributed to the 17th century. It was built by Mahammad Ibn Haji Garaman in 1678. The Mosque-madrasa complex has been one of the famous education centers of that time. Along with religious education, secular sciences were also taught in the Mosque-madrasa complex of Chelebiler village by famous scientists and scholars. Molla Vali Vidadi, the famous Azerbaijani poet of the 18th century also taught there. The pupils had their classes in special rooms-cells in the Mosque-madrasa complex.

The Mosque-madrasa complex had been fully restored before the occupation of the Jabrayil district by the Armenian Armed Forces in 1993. However, after the occupation, it has been destroyed, burnt down, and plundered by Armenians.
